I don't get much time to listen to music these days but my DH has earphones permanently fixed to his head and he has assigned me organisor and curator of his ipod. We always have music on in the car although it's a fight as to who gets their cd in first !
To take part in the Meme you have to choose
3 beautiful songs.
3 different bands.
3 sets of lyrics that touch you in any way you want to show.
So here are my songs:
This song sums up my philosophy for life really....
Let It Be - The BeatlesThis song sums up my philosophy for life really....
When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree,
there will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see,
there will be an answer. let it be.
Let it be, let it be, .....
And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light, that shines on me,
shine until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be, ..

This next choice is one of my all time favourite songs - love the Alexandra Burke version too:
When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
Tears stream down on your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down on your face
And on your face I...
Tears stream down on your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down on your face
And on your face I...
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

What a lovely selection. I don't get to listen to music much either. My boys monopolise the decibel levels in my house. I don't often go far enough in the car to listen to music either, and when I do, my ado son has got his hand on the radio button and is tuning it to Fun Radio.
ReplyDeleteI used to have an MP3 player and listened to it whilst shopping. Then my ado son 'borrowed' it and it was returned only when it had broken. *sigh*
Hello! Thanks for tagging me!! I shall go away and think about this!! Sarah x
ReplyDeleteLove your songs and thanks for the tag!! I shall have a good, hard think about this and make sure I enjoy participating! Like most other Mum's i barely get a time to even think about listening to music these days, so I look forward recapturing a lost piece of myself :-)
ReplyDeleteIf I had one wish it would be more time to listen to music and more time to listen to music without my daughters saying - thats's so lame !!! :)
